"Over the past week, thought leaders from across the automotive industry and beyond converged on Detroit and the 2015 SAE World Congress to share their ideas for the future of personal mobility. We were thrilled to serve as this year's host company and to share our own ideas for a cleaner, safer and more sustainable mobility future, one that still preserves the joy of driving that is fundamental to Honda's vision.

Honda's pathway to the future includes some very challenging targets, like fully eliminating vehicle collisions by 2040, as well as advancing technology that enable us to move away from oil as a primary fuel for personal mobility. This future will be enabled by a convergence of technologies across a broad and diverse range of scientific and engineering disciplines, including robotics, sensing systems, lightweight materials, aerodynamics, advanced powertrains, smart infrastructure and more.

Honda is working to grow its core capabilities across virtually all of these fields through pinnacle products and technologies like our NSX supercar, HondaJet advanced light jet, ASIMO humanoid robot, Honda Smart Home projects, and of course our electric vehicle, fuel cell vehicle and racing programs. We believe these diverse and far-reaching endeavors are critical to preparing our company for the next 50 or 100 years of innovations in mobility.

Achieving radical change will also require robust and ongoing collaboration among the many stakeholders in industry, government and beyond, and we hope this year's SAE World Congress has helped to build and strengthen the bridges that will carry us all toward the next era in human mobility."
